About Kay Hadashi

Kay Hadashi is a former surgical nurse who turned to writing suspense and adventure novels, weaving medical drama into many of her plots. Third generation Japanese American and born and raised in Honolulu, her stories include strong women characters and are steeped with Hawaiian and Japanese culture. Most of her books span three generations of the Kato family, and the adventures they share.
Hadashi has written mysteries, thrillers, and adventures, and has contributed to several mystery short story anthologies. David VanDyke, best selling author of the Plague Wars and Stellar Conquest Series, calls her character June Kato, a ‘kick-ass heroine’. Toby Neal, author of the Lei Crime Series, says, “Here’s an author whose heroine mine should meet.” She has also teamed with Nick Stephenson of the Leopold Blake private detective series to write “Ratio”, a cross-over novel including both of their characters.
Readers who enjoy exciting stories filled with suspense and drama like Hadashi’s novels. From the murder mysteries of Kimono Suicide and Orchids and Ice, to the adventures of Faith and Risk, readers of all ages will fall in love with the Kato family!
