One thing to note about Kay Hadashi novels: the literary contents of all books are 100% the product of the author’s imagination. They are written, edited, and formatted without the use of artificial intelligence.
Maybe you’ve noticed how some of my books are disappearing. The Maui Mystery series has been unpublished. It may return at some time in the future, it may not. As long as we’re discussing Melanie, I decided to hate Josh, her husband. Too much of a jackass jerk. So the latter books in her adventure series have been rewritten with Darrell Makiki as her husband, a firefighter.
Since it’s popular these days to obsess about typos and editing, please note that the average cost to edit a book ranges from $2000 – $5000, per book. That low end figure is for very basic editing and proofreading. The higher figure is a conservative estimate for full editing of a single book at the same length as most of mine. Considering it takes years–yes, literally several years–for any of my books to earn back that much money, I continue to make the selfish decision to self-edit my books. I’m not writing these things for someone else to make a profit. And if you want to harp at me about ever-changing book covers, most of mine are self made. Professionally made covers range anywhere from $50 to $150, up to $500 for very good covers. Covers for Ludlum, Connelly, or Grisham books cost upwards of $5000, per book. Once again, I’m writing these books so I can get a profit, not some computer dork that hasn’t seen sunlight since sixth grade.
